Today was a wonderful day! Well, sort of. I actually finished a patient! I completed 4 quads of a class 2!! I was supposed to clean 2 quads of a class 3 but couldn't get him to come in so I switched clinic sessions and got my class 2 to come in. He was so nice to take off work to help me. I started out scaling so slow and I felt like I wasn't getting anywhere! Nothing was coming off! I used the ultrasonic and I swear all it did was make his face wet! I don't feel very confident with the ultrasonic at all! I hope that gets better as I try to use it more often. Once I realized I needed to pick the pace up a little bit I feel like I flew!! I think I just need to realize that I have a time limit and I need to get all the calculus off before my time is up. I really didn't miss too many spots. My goal lately has been to get better at checking my scaling. I used my explorer a lot more and even used floss. I feel like it went well and I was able to catch my own mistakes. I really like cleaning teeth, even the more difficult cases. I really feel like I am improving so much! I hope that my patients start showing up and I can continue to improve!

Today I had a new patient coming in and I was praying and hoping that he was a class 2. My luck is looking up! He was 4 quads of a 2! I didn't get to cleaning today but I got everything else done including a full mouth! My patient today was so nice and was really excited about getting his mouth healthy again. It was really fun to share my knowledge with him about periodontal disease. I look forward to cleaning his teeth. My goal will be to finish him in one appointment and to do the best job that I can.

CA again today! Lots of fun as usual!

Today I had 2 kids come in to fulfill my 1A requirements. I was a little nervous about being able to get them done in one appointment but I was just going to have to be fast. Luckily I had a friend to help with the x-rays so I only had to do one set. I was faster than I thought I could be and I got them finished with time to spare. I then was able to fulfill my sealant requirements. So today was a great productive day mainly because my patients actually showed up. I really like doing 1A's they are so fun and cute and not to mention really really fast!

Today was the day I was going to make up my missed clinic day. I went all day today and I knew it would be challenging but I shouldn't have even gotten out of bed today. I was no showed by my patient in the morning and shortly after my patient in the afternoon cancelled. I had to hurry and call my uncle to come in the morning to do his OD. That actually worked out well. He was 2 quads of a 3 and 2 quads of a 2. This will help me so much! I couldn't even really finish OD so next time he will have to come in for more x-rays and for the cleaning. I hope I can finish this patient in a reasonable amount of time because I really need my other apponitments for other patients. In the afternoon I was able to find a patient to come in but he was just a class 1B so I now have 10 extra quads of a 1B. He was a nice guy and I was happy to have him there to help me out.

I was CA today. It was pretty easy. One good thing is that my pal Joni had 4 quads of a class 2 in her chair and she didn't need them so she gave them to me! I was so excited! I was able to stop being CA for the day and cleaned one quad. It was my first quad I have cleaned of a class 2 and I really thought it was great. I took a long time but I was able to do a good job and didn't miss any spots. I can't wait to get him back to finish him and fulfill some of my requirements.

So the bad luck continues...I had my aunt come in and I had to pick her up so I knew she wouldn't no show me but little did I know that she hadn't been taking her blood pressure medication! So, her blood pressure was 180/120! Very, very high! I ended up taking her to see a doctor so my whole day was shot! Luckily professor Costley took pitty on me and is letting me come in to make up the clinic day. I hope I fulfill all my requirements!
